What will your life be like ten or twenty years from now?
How would you like it to be?
|
Over the coming few months you will establish the long term future you will have — whether you intend to or not! What you do today affects what happens tomorrow – and the next day, and the next, and so on. Personal mentoring forces you to focus. What are you prepared to do NOW, during the next 24 hours, and over the coming weeks, to give yourself the best possible future?
Perhaps you own some self-improvement books, tapes or CDs? We can use material you already have, especially if you are familiar with it and have confidence in it. Of course, my 100-day program is only a start. It will set you up for a lifetime of progress and success. I will change your bad habits into good habits. But you have to follow through!
Over the course of the next 3˝ months, you and I will be in constant e-mail contact. We will develop goals, create a strategy and draw up plans to accomplish them. We will then implement those plans to reach your objectives. They will be YOUR objectives, goals YOU create and goals YOU decide upon. Goals that make sense for YOU. And goals that get you where YOU want to go.
We will start with a routine 'Getting to know you' session. You will be asked to complete a Personal Effectiveness Self-assessment and we'll agree on an Outcomes Contract, basically an agreement you will make with yourself. The goals you decide upon will be your long-term goals. The Outcomes Contract will determine what is to be achieved during your 100-day program.
Some of the benefits of having me as your mentor are —
- You will identify what matters most to you
- You will find yourself setting targets that motivate you
- You will establish a process to reach your goals
- You will make better decisions
- You will gain clarity and perspective
- You will solve problems more effectively
- You will raise your standards
- You will enjoy life more, and, you will feel happier
Here's an example: A sales executive contacted me worried about establishing herself in a new job in international sales. From the outset, she had difficulty relating to her new sales manager and had thoughts of quitting. She wasn't performing as well as she knew she could and also expressed a fear that she might be fired if she didn't improve soon.
Because of my management experience and extended periods working internationally, I was able to play the part of 'foreign boss' upon whom my client could practice her communication skills. I helped her find ways to communicate effectively. Within only six weeks of mentoring, she had settled into her new position, had started bringing in some outstanding sales, and gained her new manager's confidence. She went on to do very well in her new position.
On another occasion, I mentored a medical therapist in private practice, who was having difficulty growing his practice. After a few months of coaching he was able to report an increase in business and a bright future.
I was also able to help a building contractor turn a loss-making office construction project into a profit greater than had originally been bid.
What would you like to accomplish over the next 100 days? Will you let me mentor you, now?
(Yes, I'm ready to start improving my life!)
